Chicken salad recipe with hemp superfood, a recipe full of proteins!
Your body uses protein to repair and build tissues. It also uses protein to make enzymes, hormones, and other body chemicals. Protein is an important building block of bones, muscles, cartilage, skin, and blood. Protein is a “macronutrient”; meaning that the body needs a relatively large amount of it. Foods with high protein are; fish, chicken, quinoa, hemp seeds, tofu, eggs, yoghurt, beans, nuts & seeds, cheese and more.
Hemp seeds as protein superfood?
This chicken salad contains protein from chicken. Also egg, hemp seeds and hemp seed protein powder, are excellent providers of natural protein in this salad. Hemp seed comes from high-growing varieties of the Cannabis plant. This is why hemp is commonly mistaken for being a drug, as it belongs to the same plant family. However nothing could be further from the truth; the two plants are completely different. Hemp seed has lots of beneficial effects on our bodies. It strengthens immunity and fends off toxins. It’s been said that eating hemp seeds in any form could aid, if not heal, people suffering from immune deficiency diseases.
